Product name in Chinese: Tungsten pentachloride
English name of product: Tungsten pentachloride
CAS number: 13470-14-9
Product introduction: Tungsten pentachloride, molecular formula WCl5. It is a shiny dark green crystal that easily decomposes when exposed to air, dissolves in water and decomposes to form W2O5. Used for the synthesis of tungsten organic compounds. If heated in air, tungsten oxychloride WOCl4 is generated. Decomposition can occur in most polar solvents, but it can be slightly soluble in non polar solvents such as carbon disulfide. Its vapor is light blue-green in color. Soluble in organic solvents such as acetonitrile, benzene, chloroform, and carbon disulfide. Reacting with primary amine easily generates amine compounds. Dissolve in water and undergo hydrolysis to produce blue oxide W20O58. It can be obtained by reducing tungsten hexachloride with red phosphorus at 250-280 ℃ or by reducing tungsten hexachloride with hydrogen at 380-400 ℃, or by disproportionation reaction of tungsten tetrachloride. Used for the synthesis of tungsten organic compounds.
